Alexis wakes up, looks at Sonny, and tries to sneak out of bed. Sonny lazily opens his eyes and looks at her.
Sonny: You leaving the scene of the crime?
{ next scene }
Sonny: Where you going?
Alexis: I thought maybe home.
Sonny: Why?
Alexis: Well, I live there. (she's rambling) I know you're a private person and, you know, I'm a private person and of course I'm used to, you know, waking up in my own bed at -- at least I think you are. And you know, last night was -- last night was last night and this morning is this morning and -- and -- (notices Sonny gazing at her) why are you looking at me like that?
Sonny: What, now, I can't look at you?
Alexis: (unsettled) Is there anything in particular you're looking at?
Sonny: Yeah, you got something stuck in --
Alexis: (mortified, a hand raises) Oh, God.
Sonny: No, no, no. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Actually, I was staring at your -- at your mouth.
Alexis: My mouth?
Sonny: Yeah. I don't know why. It just was something -- (holds out a hand to her) let me see. Come here.
They kiss softly.
Sonny: I -- ahem. I always knew that when I got you out of those attorney clothes, you'd be a revelation.
Alexis: Are you trying -- trying to embarrass me?
Sonny: No. You -- you are a fascinating woman, Alexis, multi-layered. And to show you how much I appreciate that, I'm going to go downstairs and make you the best breakfast you ever had in your life -- unless you got somewhere else to go.
Alexis: I'm ok. I'm fine.
Sonny: All right.
Sonny gets out of bed and goes downstairs, as Alexis sits on the bed, covered only by the black satin.

Sonny: Alexis? Breakfast is ready. Come on down.
Alexis comes down the stairs, wearing only one of Sonny's shirts, only partly buttoned.
Alexis: I borrowed this. I hope you don't mind.
Sonny: No.
Alexis: My clothes are a little rumpled, so --
Sonny: Yeah, I bet. You look good in my shirt. Maybe you should wear it to court with your sensible pumps.
Alexis: Right, I'll do that.
Sonny: A bunch of guys down there, right?
Alexis: This is not a good time to be sexist. God made women attorneys and I happen to be one of them.
Sonny: And you happen to be the best.
Alexis: And judges, too (smiles, she knows she's rambling again) -- God made judges, too, that are women. (points) How's your foot?
Sonny: Foot? It's -- you know, it's -- it's like 100%, you know, just --
Alexis: Good.
Sonny: Right.
Alexis: Good. Breakfast.
Sonny: Yeah.
Alexis: Breakfast. (pauses, looks at him) We've never done this before.
Sonny: Sure we have.
Alexis: Not undressed. So what's the protocol?
Sonny: Well, simple. You know? You sit down, right?
Alexis: Ok. (she sits)
Sonny: Ok.
Alexis: Yep.
Sonny: I'll get the food, and we eat.
Alexis: We can do that.
Sonny: You like me, don't you?
Alexis: I tolerate you.
Sonny: Right. That's not what you said last night.
Alexis: (blushes) Could you please show a little respect?
Sonny: Well, I actually respect you more now than I ever have.
Alexis: Ok. That's funny. I -- I know --
There's a knock on the door.
Alexis: Uh, uh -- I'll go in the other room.
Sonny: Well, wait, wait, wait. Why, why? What --
Alexis: What if it's Carly?
{ next scene }
The knocking continues.
Alexis: I -- I certainly wouldn't want to upset Carly.
Sonny: Well, I understand that, but it's up to you.
Alexis: It wouldn't bother you if Carly walked in right now?
Sonny: It would bother me, but I --
More knocking.
Sonny: I'm not expecting Carly, so -- hold on. Oh, boy.
Kristina: Hey. I'm sorry. I don't mean to bother you.
Sonny: No, no, you're not bothering us. You need some sugar or something?
Kristina: No, no, no. I'm actually looking for my sister.
Sonny: Oh.
Kristina: You know, Alexis didn't come home last night, so I was, you know, figured maybe you would have seen her -- (Alexis is sneaking upstairs when Kristina sees her) Oh, hello. Hi. (sees Alexis is only wearing Sonny's shirt) Oh, I -- I just wanted to make sure that you were -- that you were all right, and clearly you are. All right. Um -- so I think I'll probably go.
{ next scene }
Sonny: Well, I'm going to go make some coffee. I got some -- it's a good blend. You might want to try it. I don't know. Um -- I'll leave you guys alone. (goes into the kitchen)
Alexis: (once Sonny's out of the room) Whatever you're thinking, just don't say it, ok?
Kristina: Even if I'm sure that you won't mind what I'm about to say?
Alexis: What?
Kristina: Well, I was -- I was just thinking that I have never seen you look this way before.
Alexis: Mortified?
Kristina: No, it actually looks like you had a wonderful evening. Oh, Alexis, all I care about is that you're happy. That's what matters to me.
Alexis: Thank you.
Kristina: Look, I'm trying to wean myself off coffee, so will you tell Sonny that I'm going to take a rain check?
Alexis: You know, you don't have to go. You really don't.
Kristina: Oh, no, no, no. I do have to go. Have fun. (leaves)
{ next scene }
Alexis: Oh, my God. That is so good. Oh, sheer heaven.
Sonny: You make a chef's heart proud.
Alexis: You know, I don't know how you do this. I mean, whenever I try to cook -- I mean, I know you know because you've been a victim of my cooking, but I just don't get it. I don't get how you time everything all at once. You know, I just do things in the kitchen and it just, you know, it just burns. Why do you keep staring at me?
Sonny: Do you have like, analyze everything?
Alexis: Yes. Mmm.
Sonny: That's a turn-on right there. There's nothing, you know, that's sexier than a woman biting on a strawberry.
Flustered, Alexis puts the strawberry down as Sonny chuckles.
{ next scene }
Sonny: You ok?
Alexis: That's the 10th time you've asked me that. I'm just going to state the obvious. Does anyone have any idea what happens next?
Sonny: Does anybody?
Alexis: Good point.
There's a knock on his door.
Zander: Sonny, it's me. Sonny, open up. Sonny!
Sonny: What the hell's wrong?
Zander: There was a news report. A car went off into the Richland Avenue bluff. Aid it was a woman in a blue sport coupe.
Sonny: So what?
Zander: Carly drives a blue sport coupe.
Sonny: Carly doesn't drive, Zander.
Zander: Yeah, Sonny, she does.
