Sonny: (Walking out of the station) Thank you.
Alexis: You're welcome.

Sonny and Alexis are now in Sonny's living room.
Sonny: They missed Courtney and A.J. by less than a half-hour.
Alexis: How?
Sonny: I waited too long. I wanted to be there, you know, so Courtney wouldn't be frightened, and we were at the PCPD wasting your time, my time, everybody's time. Now I got to start the search all over again.
There's a knock on door.
Sonny: Oh, man, this is just - hey, it's not a good time right now. I got to -
Carly: Yeah, well, I've got something to say to you, and if you shut that door in my face, I will stand here and yell them from the hall.
Sonny: Ok, I've shut the door in your face once, just once. How many times have you gone against me and done exactly what I told you not to do?
Carly: A hell of a lot less times than you think.
Sonny: All right, come on in. Whatever. Say what you got to say.
Carly: Oh, Alexis, what a surprise. You know, Sonny and I have some things to discuss, so if you scurry on across the hall, you can think of excuses to come back.
Alexis: Let me know if you hear anything.
Sonny: Ok. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Alexis covered for you tonight.
Carly: She covered for you. I was willing to take responsibility for what I did, but you wouldn't let me. What kind of joke is this? I told the truth, and Alexis Davis, the pillar of honesty and moral integrity - she lied because he asked you to. (to Alexis) You'd do anything for him, wouldn't you?
Sonny: Where's Michael tonight?
Carly: He's at home with Leticia.
Sonny: Where would he be if you had gotten arrested? With me or your mother, or on his way out of the country so the Quartermaines don't grab him? If you can't thank Alexis for yourself, thank her for your son.
Carly: That's a cheap shot, Sonny.
Sonny: Well, but it's true. So go ahead. Thank her.
