Sonny: (walks over to Max, who is standing by the door) Hey, I want you to find my sister. According to this note she's leaving town. Check the buses, the trains. I don't think she has enough money to fly, but send someone to the airport anyway. Call Zander. Have him check the clubs, the rave and wherever else he may think she is. Okay, ah, tell Zander that if, if he finds her, not to tell her that I'm looking for her. That he just happened to be at the right place at the right time, you know and?
Max: Yeah, I understand.
Sonny: Okay, now if somebody else finds her I do not want her to see you. I do not want her to know she's being followed. I want to know where she is, where she's going. The most important thing is to keep her safe.
Max: I'll handle it. (Max walks out the door closing it behind him)
Sonny: (turns and looks back at Alexis and Mike) You satified?
Alexis: Max is an excellent bodyguard. He's just not very subtle and there's a very good chance Courtney will know she's being watched.
Mike: Yeah, but it's better than her being off on her own.
Sonny: (harshly to his father) Forget it Mike.
Mike: I won't let you shut me out of my daughter's life.
Sonny: She doesn't want us, Mike. How many times do I gotta tell you?
Mike: You mean she doesn't want you.
Alexis: Since the tension between you seems to upset Courtney and who could blame her? It would probably be a good idea for you two to come up with some kind of a...
Janine: (bursts into the room without knocking, in a purple dress with a dark winter coat unbuttoned over it) Somebody better produce my daughter right now or I might just forget I'm a lady. (the other look at her as if to ask themselves and that'd be somehow different from how she's acting)
[scene ends]

Courtney: (she gets up off of the couch where she was sitting with AJ) Sonny will have his men searching for me.
AJ: Courtney, trust me.
Courtney: I have already caused you too much trouble.
AJ: No trouble at all. Come on, like I said, I mean it when I said I wanted you to stay here with me.
Courtney: You're just trying to make me feel better.
AJ: Is it working?
Courtney: A little. (smiles at him with dimples)
AJ: I feel better too. I've made some lousy choices in my life, okay? So it's time to take the high road. Helping you out for a few days, let's just say it's my first mission as an official good guy.
Courtney: (smiles back at him) Are you sure no one will know I'm staying here?
AJ: Not if you don't want them to.
Courtney: I definitely don't.
AJ: Well, then it's out secret.
Skye: (comes into AJ's suite without knocking, she's wearing a light green v-neck sweater and hunter green pants) What's she doing here?
AJ: Courtney's going to be staying here for a while.
Skye: Are you out of your mind?
[scene ends]

AJ: (turns to his sister, who walked into the living room of his suite without any warning) You know Skye, a funny thing happens when you connect your knuckles to a hard surface. It's called knocking.
Courtney: Maybe I should go.
AJ: (turns back to Courtney) No, no, no it's okay really. Skye's on our side, right?
Skye: Absolutely. (gives AJ a patently fake grin)
Courtney: Maybe it would be better if I stayed someplace else.
AJ: No, absolutely not. Come on. This is the safest place. That is if everyone keeps their mouth's shut.
Skye: My lips are sealed.
Courtney: I'm complicating your life.
AJ: No, it's a complication I want. Courtney, if you'd just stop thinking about what everyone else wants and think of yourself, you might find it's what you want too.
Skye: (clears her throat to interrupt) Mind if I get a glass of water? (she walks out of the living room of the suite through the hall and out of sight)
AJ: (sighs as Skye walks out of the room) All right. Look, the note that I dropped off for Sonny. It says that you're gone for a short time, that's all.
Courtney: Well, now that I'm here, it would be kind of nice to stay.
AJ: Great, then you know what? Just make yourself comfortable. And if you should get hungry, all you have to do is...
Courtney: Call room service?
AJ: You're catching on. (Courtney laughs) Good night. (AJ watches as Courtney walks into the hallway to get to the guest bedroom) (to himself, rubbing his hands gleefully) Oh, yes.
Skye: (walks back out into the living room of the suite to find him talking to himself) You know, I really can't stay. I have to go order you a headstone.
AJ: Anyone ever told you, you have a flair for drama?
Skye: What if Sonny finds out?
AJ: He won't. Not unless I want him to, of course. Do me a favor, would you, would you look after Courtney and make sure she doesn't get scared?
Skye: What about me? Won't Sonny be out looking for Courtney with a small army of thugs?
AJ: Don't worry about it. You've got JoJo and Phil around.
Skye: Where are you going?
AJ: To get caught. (goes out the front door and closes it behind him before Skye can ask any more questions)
[scene ends]

Courtney: (walks into the living room and sees that Skye is there alone laying back on the couch reading or at least flipping through a magazine) Where's AJ?
Skye: He had an errand.
Courtney: So he asked you to babysit?
Skye: He wants to make sure you're okay.
Courtney: I am.
Skye: It's AJ I'm worried about. He seems to think no one will find out, but if they do? He could get hurt.
Courtney: You mean by Sonny. (Skye lays aside her magazine and walks over to the bar where she stands with her back to Courtney) What do you think of Sonny?
Skye: I am definitely the wrong person to ask.
Courtney: I really want to know.
Skye: You know, I think you've had enough bad news for one day.
Courtney: I can take it. (crosses her arms over her chest)
Skye: Why do you want to know this?
Courtney: Because, I have all these decisions to make about what I want to do and where I want to go and they all depend on who my brother really is.
[scene ends]

Janine: Courtney is gone. She gets in a car accident and you turn around and you lose her?
Mike: Look, she left the police station without telling us. She was upset.
Janine: (sweeping look at Mike, Alexis and Sonny) Oh, I've got about three guesses who did the upsetting. This is great, thank you so damn much.
There is a knocking at the door and then Johnny walks into the room, followed by AJ who's being held by the back of his jacket by Max.
Sonny: You find Courtney?
Johnny: No, but we found someone else who you might want to see.
[scene ends]

AJ: (Max is still holding AJ by the back of his dark wool, winter coat with both hands) Ease up on the threats, Kong.
Sonny: What did you find?
Max: He was outside messing around Mike's hotel suite.
AJ: For your information, I live in the hotel.
Mike: Not on that floor you don't.
AJ: Paranoia's running a little rampant around here, even for you. (looks pointedly at Sonny) What the hell's going on ?
Janine: These bozo's lost her.
AJ: Way to go guys. (gives Sonny that crocodile grin of his) Kind of ironic, don't you think Sonny? Everyone here, all of you, you all thought I'd be the one hurting Courtney.
Sonny: This funny to you or something?
AJ: Actually, no. I heard about it on the radio.
Alexis: And you went out looking for Courtney?
AJ: You know, she's a sweet girl, Alexis. Okay? She deserves a hell of a lot better than she's been getting from this town so far.
Sonny: And you wanted to help her out of the goodness of your heart?
AJ: I thought she could use someone to talk to.
Mike: Well, you're too late.
Janine: Courtney ran away, AJ.
AJ: And she didn't tell any of you where she was going? Isn't it great when family members get along? Huh? When they trust each other? Well, she's a smart girl. I'm sure she's safe. Actually I'm glad she's gone.
Sonny: Yeah, well, I'm glad she's away from you.
AJ: Back at you. Can I go now?
Sonny: (to Johnny and Max) You take this, ah, Mr. Quartermaine back to his hotel. (Max grabs the back of AJ's jacket with one hand and guides him out of Alexis' apartment)
AJ: Take it easy.
Mike: Well, what now?
Sonny: We keep looking Mike. (asks Janine) Does she have a friend? A boyfriend?
Janine: You think I'm gonna tell you? You two have been bouncing her around like she's, I don't know. You've been trying to win her, like a prize you can lord over each other and I'm sick of it. (Alexis looks over at Janine, clearly uncomfortable with this loud, obnoxious and demanding woman dominating her living room) And apparently Courtney is too. So you know what? Why don't you stay out of it? I'll go find my daughter by myself. (walks out of Alexis' penthouse, closing the door behind herself)
[scene ends]

Skye: You know how Sonny is.
Courtney: Well, he says he's watching out for me. And what about AJ and everything that he's been doing? What does he expect in return?
Skye: You mean, is AJ going to put the moves on you?
Courtney: Well, I mean, he has gone out of his way to help me out. Maybe there are strings attached.
Skye: AJ's not like that.
Courtney: Are you sure? Because if that's the case, I'll just find someplace else to stay.
Skye: AJ is merely looking for a friend, Courtney. And here you are, you show up, you have no expectations, making no judgements, just taking him for who he is. And I really think that that's a safe haven for him if that rings any bells.
Courtney: Yeah, it does.
Skye: Yeah, well, AJ's obviously very fond of you Courtney. I really don't think you have anything to worry about where he's concerned.
Courtney: Well I'm pretty wiped out. I think I'm going to go to bed. Tell AJ I said goodnight.
Skye: Sure.
Courtney: And would you thank him for me? (Skye nods) Why are family's so screwed up?
Skye: I haven't a clue, but I'll tell you something. If you're lucky enough to find someone who's willing to listen to you and support you and hell, even rescue you, you hang on to them for dear life. (she's talking a little more about Jax than AJ here as Courtney turns and leaves the room)
[scene ends]

Skye: (AJ walks in the door as Skye walks out of the back hallway of his suite, he nods to her) Hey.
AJ: Hey. How's Courtney?
Skye: She just went to bed and she's sound asleep by the way.
AJ: I'm not surprised.
Skye: And where have you been? My imagination's been running wild.
AJ: I arranged an audience for Sonny. (standing in front of the bar, he opens a bottle of water) You see he was concerned that I might be getting a little hot onto Courtney's trail.
Skye: And you convinced him that you weren't and he just let you go, just like that?
AJ: You see, I proved my innocence, Skye. By letting myself get caught looking for Courtney means I don't know where she is.
Skye: And that'll satisfy Sonny for like what? Five minutes?
AJ: It buys me the time I need. Which reminds me, there's something I need for you to do for me.
Skye: Oh goody, I get to be an accomplice.
AJ: Would you have a little faith, please?
Skye: Speaking of faith, I convinced Courtney that she could trust you. Yeah, she was wondering if you were going to want to jump her bones and I said no, of course not. AJ's not like that, he's merely looking for a friend. Yes, give the lady an Oscar.
AJ: I'm surprised at you. Of course that's not my goal.
Skye: Oh and your intentions are as pure as the driven snow, are they?
AJ: Skye, I'm looking at the big picture here. Okay? Now, I would never make Courtney do something she doesn't want to. Of course, by the time I'm finished with her, she'll want to do it all. And Sonny won't be able to lift a finger to stop me. (smiles at her)
[scene ends]

Mike: (walks toward the door, which he opens, then turns back toward Alexis) Look, if, if you hear from Courtney, call me.
Alexis: We will call you and if you hear, of course you'll call us.
Mike: Yes, I will.
Alexis: I know that you are worried about her Mike.
Mike: Yeah, well I'm worried about Sonny too. Can you make sure he's okay? Ah, I know he listens to you.
Alexis: I'll do my best.
Mike: Thanks (leaves and closes the door behind him)
Sonny: Thanks for getting him out of here. (walks closer and clicks his hands together) I'm going to call it a night.
Alexis: Not so fast.
Sonny: What do you mean? There's nothing more you can do.
Alexis: Sure, I can listen.
Sonny: I hate this. I mean, Janine called it, so did that bastard AJ, he got it right. I, Courtney is alone because of me. The more I try to reach out to her, the further I pushed her away. I do that to people.
Alexis: I know, you tried to do that to me.
Sonny: Yes, I did.
Alexis: It didn't work. (surprised that he actually admitted that's what he did) I don't know, maybe it never will.
Sonny: Never's a strong word.
Alexis: I think maybe you're stuck with me. I'm sorry.
Sonny: (smiles showing deep dimples and genuine warmth) Thanks. (Alexis opens the door, lets him leave, closes the door and leans against it on the inside while Sonny leans against the door on the outside)
