Sonny, Alexis, Courtney, Janine and Taggert are in the living room of Alexis' penthouse.
Sonny: (gestures with his arm toward Janine and Courtney) You aren't taking these women anywhere.
Taggert: I wouldn't be so sure, Sonny boy.
Alexis: May I see a warrant, please?
Taggert: A warrant is on it's way.
Alexis: Which means you don't have one.
Taggert: I will have one soon and in case you're wondering Edward Quartermaine is pressing charges. Yeah, that's right, blackmail, fraud and conspiracy against Miss Matthews.
Janine: I don't believe this.
Taggert: You'd better believe it.
Alexis: Are these charges similar to the robbery / assault charges that the Quartermaines brought against Zander Smith for the attack that never happened?
Taggert: I've got a restaurant full of people who say they saw you (indicates Courtney) yeah you, accusing your mother of being a fraud, huh.
Alexis: I believe that would be the Port Charles Grille. That restaurant is owned by the Quartermaine's. Edward's been know to pay off a witness before.
Courtney: (to Janine) I didn't mean to get you arrested.
Sonny: Courtney, don't say anything else.
Taggert: You know that wouldn't be the best advise.
Sonny: Well, who pays you to give advise, Taggert?
Taggert: Sonny has a habit of looking out for himself and nobody else.
Alexis: Thank you, for your insight Lieutenant, but without a warrant, you're finished here.
Taggert: (to Alexis) When are you going to stop doing the dirty work for this gangster?
Alexis: Please, give Edward my regards (she opens her front door and ushers Taggert through it)
Taggert: I'll be back.
Sonny: Tell your surveillance people we're planning a quiet evening at home.
Taggert: Thanks for your cooperation Sonny.
Sonny: Anytime, Taggert.
Taggert leaves and Alexis closes the door behind him.
Janine: Can Edward Quartermaine really send me to prison?
Sonny: Yes and he'll use your daughter to do it.
Janine: I'm sorry baby girl. I never meant for any of this to happen.
Sonny: I said I'd take care of it.
Janine: How?
Courtney: Forget how, why?
[scene ends]
Sonny and Alexis are standing together near the entry, while Janine and Courtney are standing over in the living room
Sonny: I want us all ready when the warrant get's here. Prep Janine, I'll take care of ah, Courtney.
Courtney: You're experts at this, aren't you?
Janine: I wish I'd never met that old coot.
Alexis: I wouldn't mention that to the police if I were you.
Janine: Why not, it's true.
Sonny: You know what, whatever Alexis tells you to say, say it, nothing else.
Alexis: Come on Janine, we don't have a lot of time.
Sonny: (to Courtney) You understand you implicated yourself on New Year's Eve, yelling at the Quartermaines.
Courtney: I wasn't exactly yelling.
Sonny: Taggert will use every word you said against your mother.
Courtney: You haven't answered my question.
Sonny: Do not say anything more to Taggert.
Courtney: Why are you helping me?
Sonny: Taggert likes to harass people I care about.
Courtney: Why?
Sonny: We've known each other for a long time.
Courtney: Why does he hate you so much?
Sonny: It doesn't matter. He'll use what he can to hurt me.
Courtney: Is that why you're helping me? To protect yourself?
Sonny: You need help, you're family now, there's nothing more to say.
Courtney: Wouldn't it be easier, if I just, if I just disappeared?
Sonny: No.
Courtney: Couldn't I just slip out on the service elevator or?
Sonny: I can get you out of this if you stay quiet and don't run.
Courtney: Do the cops really have you under surveillance?
Sonny: I'm used to it.
[camera pans to Alexis and Janine sitting on the couch]
Alexis: If they ask you a question and you're not sure of the answer, say you don't know. Don't make a best guess.
Janine: I'll try to, I...
Sonny: Janine, if you don't know the answer, refer the question to Alexis.
Janine: Okay.
Courtney: Mom (goes over and gives her mom a hug) mom.
Janine: Sweetie, I made the mistakes, not you.
Sonny: Okay, you know I don't want to be insensitive, but we can't be seeing this at the police station. Right, Alexis (looks to her for confirmation) can you tell them?
Alexis: Emotion tends to make you look guilty.
Sonny: All right, we all clear?
Janine: Yeah, I'm ready.
[knock at the door and Taggert's muffled voice can be heard through it]
Sonny: Courtney?
Courtney: Me too.
[a second more strident knock comes on the door]
Sonny: Counselor?
Alexis: All right.
Sonny: Come on in Taggert.
Alexis: I assume you're prepared this time? (holds her hand out and Taggert hands her the arrest warrant) Thank you.
Taggert: Miss Mathews, you're under arrest for conspiracy, fraud and extortion. If you'd be so kind, over here. (Janine walks over to where Taggert is standing, he takes out his hand cuffs and starts cuffing her as he continues) You have the right to remain silent, if you give up that right, anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present during questioning.
Courtney: (breaks into the flow) Mom.
Taggert: If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed.
Alexis: (interrupts Taggert to interject) I would be that attorney.
Taggert: To you by the court. Do you understand these rights as I've explained them to you?
Janine: Yes.
Alexis: Do you have to cuff her? Isn't that excessive, Taggert?
Taggert: It's standard procedure.
Alexis: You're arresting a mother right in front of her kid.
Taggert: Speaking of which (looks at Courtney) You, let's go.
Alexis: Don't say anything? to each other. (Courtney picks up her coat and precedes Taggert and Janine out the door) I'll be right there. (Alexis closes the door) Is she going to be all right?
Sonny: Mike left her, her mother's a mess. No kid should have to deal with that. Come on. She needs my help. (Alexis throws her jacket over her arm) You got everything?
Alexis: Yep. I got this.
Sonny: Take that. (picks up and hands Alexis her briefcase) Let's go. (Sonny closes the door as they leave)

end of scene with AJ and Skye in PCPD
AJ: (referring to Sonny) We're innocent, he never will be. (Sonny walks in behind AJ looking cool)

Edward: There she is, the little girl from the Grille. Good work.
Mac: How did Sonny get tangled up in this?
Alexis: My client's only here to help.
Edward: Janine Matthews set me up, didn't she? Now you know the truth dear, just speak up, just tell everyone.
Alexis: You are under no obligation to say anything.
Janine: All I did was go visit Mr. Quartermaine and that one over there (indicates Skye) throws me in this fancy hotel room and this one (indicates Monica) she starts throwing money at me.
Taggert: Since when were you put under Sonny's so called care?
Alexis: (to Courtney) Don't answer that.
Mac: What's your connection to Sonny Corinthos?
Alexis: Or that either.
Mac: Did he threaten you?
Alexis: Or that.
Edward: Why don't you just tell the truth dear?
Alexis: You don't have to say anything.
Mac: Whatever Sonny promised you, it won't happen.
Taggert: Did he threaten you?
Alexis: If you're referring to my client, he did not.
Taggert: Why are you afraid to speak for yourself? Are you afraid of him?
Sonny: Courtney, Courtney is my sister, okay.
Alan: What?
Edward: I'll be damned.
Sonny: Miss Matthews is her mother. I'm just trying to help.
Alan: Get out of here. Take a walk will you?
[scene ends]
Alan: I cannot believe the stuff that -
Monica: (to Sonny) Since when do you have a sister?
Alan: You believe him?
Monica: Don't you have enough money, you have to use your relatives to scam
my family?
Edward: You stole my company, I had to protect myself.
Mac: Edward, are you working with Sonny Corinthos?
Edward: Sure, sure, I've been a hoodlum all these years.
Alexis: These Quartermaine issues have nothing to do with my client or his sister.
Taggert: If that's even who she is.
Sonny: I guess you're going to have to take my word for it.
Mac: Time out. I have other cases. This better not be just another Quartermaine fight.
Edward: This woman robbed me blind using threats and coersion.
Skye: You're just a bad loser grandfather, that's all.
Edward: (to Courtney) Come on dear, you know the truth, just tell us.
Alexis: Do you really expect her to answer these questions in front of all these people?
Mac: Meet me in room two.
Sonny: Leave my sister out of this. She doesn't know anything about anybody.
[end scene]
Edward: Since when does Sonny Corinthos determine who gets questioned?
Alexis: He's well within his rights.
Edward: (to Courtney) Dear, you told us the truth at the Grille, just tell us now.
Alan: Sonny's obviously gotten to her.
Alexis: My client is here as a courtesy, Commissioner. I'd appreciate it if we didn't have to dignify?
Taggert: (cuts Alexis off) You know what, everybody just needs to chill out.
Mac: (to Courtney) We'd appreciate a statement from you.
Edward: Just tell the truth.
Courtney: Am I under arrest?
Mac: Not at all.
Sonny: You don't have to tell them anything.
Janine: Courtney, you do what you have to do.
Courtney: Then let's get it over with.
Sonny: Okay, well I'm going with her.
Mac: Not so fast. Sonny: Then forget the statement, Mac.
Taggert: Whoa, whoa. What's the matter, Sonny? You afraid she's gonna get it wrong?
Courtney: It's okay.
Alexis: I will make sure she doesn't say anything to get her in trouble.
Taggert: All we want is the truth.
Janine: Just be careful baby. Sonny: You can leave that room anytime you want.
Courtney: I understand.
Mac: This way. (he leads Courtney and Alexis into the interrogation room, as Sonny walks closer to the outside so he can see in the window through the blinds)
AJ: Sonny seems a little tense.
Skye: Do you think she's really his sister?
AJ: I think she's more of an achilles heel.
Taggert: Time to get booked.
AJ: Oh, Taggert, come on. Janine's the criminal.
Taggert: Tell it to the judge.
AJ: That's original.
Taggert: (sarcastically) Oh yeah, it's so much fun to say.
Skye: I want to call my attorney.
Taggert: You're gonna need a lawyer.
Skye: And the cuffs.
Taggert: (indicates to the uniform police officer that he should uncuff Skye) Keep an eye on her. Skye: Yeah, I just might break for the border any second.
AJ looks speculatively at Sonny who's watching Courtney through the window of the interrogation room.
Mac: Okay Courtney, what's your story?
Meanwhile, Sonny's eyes are practically boring holes through the glass as he watches.
