On the airplane. Sonny is reading over a contract, and Alexis is staring at him. She accidentally drops some papers onto the floor.

Alexis: Oh.

Sonny: You all right?

Alexis: Just clumsy. Sorry.

Sonny: Oh.

Alexis: (drops another set of papers) Damn.

Sonny: Are you sure you're all right?

Alexis: Yeah, I just can't seem to keep anything in my lap.

Sonny: Well, that's not usually a problem for you. Are you worried about flying?

Alexis: (shaking head defensively) No.

Sonny: No?

Alexis: Well - you know what? Maybe I am feeling a little hemmed in.

Sonny: You are? Maybe you should loosen up your seat belt. Let me try to - (reaches over to help her out with her seat belt)

Alexis: Oh, thanks. You know what? I can do it. I can -

Sonny: Oh, no, it's all right. I got it. It's quite fine. Ok. I just unbuckled it. All right. Is that better?

Alexis: Yeah, that's fine. That's much - it's really great. Thank you. I - I feel - I'm all set.

Sonny: Yeah?

Alexis: Yeah.

Sonny: No, you're not. Because I can see - there's a look on your face. You seem a little scared. What are you afraid of?

{Next Scene}

Sonny: You can tell me or not, but you don't need to lie because I know something's bothering you.

Alexis: I am - I'm feeling a little skittish lately.

Sonny: Well, you don't go through what you did and not feel it.

Alexis: Right. Fortunately Stavros is gone and helena's about to be locked up, and I - I need to relax.

Sonny: You know, sometimes it helps if you talk to somebody who's been through it. Have you spoken to Stefan or Nikolas?

Alexis: No.

Sonny: And you want to keep Kristina out of it to protect her. You know, it's not good to have it all bottled up.

Alexis: Oh, look who's talking - the master bottler.

Sonny: Which is - which is why I know. I can read you pretty good.

Alexis: "Well." You can read me fairly well - well -

Sonny: Oh, so it's not enough to, you know, start in on my - on my ethics. Now you're going to do the same with my grammar? Just tell me.

Alexis: (sighs) I wasn't sure if any of us would ever be safe again. I - I hadn't felt that helpless since I was a kid. And there I was, holding my breath, waiting, waiting for it to be over, praying someone would come and rescue me. And then, suddenly, apropos of absolutely nothing, I - I pictured you... telling me to breathe. And I laughed out loud. I mean, I think I did. I don't know. Either way - either way, it - it really helped me. A little, anyway. (shaken a bit by her rambling admissions) Um - do you think I could reconsider that drink that you offered me earlier?

Sonny: It's never too late to have a drink. (hands her the glass)

Alexis: Thanks. (takes a sip)

Sonny: You know what? I let you down. You had a dream about me - that I rescued you - and I didn't. And I should have after everything you've done for me.

Alexis: You pay me very well for my - my legal services. (softly) You didn't let me down. I doubt you ever could.

Awhile later. Alexis has obviously finished more than just the one glass of rum.

Alexis: (contentedly) I don't remember the last time I felt this relaxed. Maybe never.

Sonny: Then it's past time.

Alexis: (laughs, settling back on the seat) I - I promised myself when helena had me locked up that if I got out alive, I was going to enjoy myself.

Sonny: How?

Alexis: I don't know exactly, but I am going to find out.

Sonny: Here's to that.

Alexis: You're so nice. You know that?

Sonny: "Nice"?

Alexis: You know how to treat a woman, how to make her feel important, safe and taken care of. (amusing herself) I just hope you don't blow it when we get to Puerto Rico. (Sonny sends her a questioning look) The labor negotiations?

Sonny: Ah, yeah, right.

Alexis: I know. You want to make your workers happy. You'll give them whatever they want.

Sonny: Mm-hmm.

Alexis: You are too nice. You are too nice. You are an underworld figure, for god's sake. You need to toughen up.

Sonny: I do all right for myself.

Alexis: You know, maybe you should get some really cool sunglasses and a gold chain. (the drink has definitely hit her) Could I buy you - could I buy you a gold chain?

Sonny: Do you want another drink?

Alexis: Sure.

Sonny: All right.

Alexis: But -

Sonny: I know. No umbrellas.

Alexis: Tiny umbrellas. No tiny umbrellas.

Sonny: No tiny umbrellas. What if there are, like, little, tiny (pauses, grinning) rainstorms?

Alexis laughs again

Kelly's. Zander has been working on keeping his word to Sonny, by keeping an eye on Carly. After Carly leaves, he pulls out his cell phone.

Zander: Sonny. Zander. It's all set. (chuckles) I found the perfect way to watch Carly.

On the plane.

Sonny: Thank you.

Sonny hangs up the phone, and the camera pans back to reveal Alexis sound asleep on his shoulder. He pulls a folder from her arms and sets it down on the table, before settling back and grinning.
