Sonny is on the phone discussing the rebuilding of the warehouse while Alexis sits on the couch with a cup of coffee, picking up one of Michael's toy planes.
Sonny: Alexis…how ya doing?
Alexis: (catching him off guard) Sonny!
Sonny: How ya doin'?
Alexis: I'm okay; how about you?
Sonny: Oh you know.
Alexis: How was the wedding? Anyone leave anyone at the altar?
Sonny: Uh…the ceremony was uneventful.
Alexis: Really?
Sonny: Yes.
Alexis: How ordinary.
Sonny: Yeah.
Alexis: Why did you ask me to drop the divorce papers?
Sonny: Uh. Carly had other plans.
Alexis: Even Carly can't make you do something you don't want to do
Sonny: Well, you know, I had to convince myself that life with me was right for Carly and Michael. My job now is to make sure I was right.
[end scene]
Sonny is back on the phone and Alexis approaches.
Sonny: You know what just get me the sketches by the end of the week. Yea…alright. (hangs up the phone.) okay.
Alexis: (looking intently at him) You don't look any different.
Sonny: Why would I?
Alexis: You survived the ultimate commitment.
Sonny: Trust me Alexis a marriage isn't as traumatic as you seem to think.
Alexis: For most people but me. And you. You're more self protective than I am. Now you just opened yourself up to…
Sonny: You know I can't think of it that way. I'm selfish. When Carly wouldn't walk away or let me send her away I had to go for what I wanted, and that was Carly and Michael in my life permanently. Now I gotta keep 'em safe. Are you sure Zander won't fold at the trial?
Alexis: He's very clear about his testimony.
Sonny: With you. Let's see how he stands up to me.
Sonny passes around Alexis and she turns to follow his path with a bit of confusion on her face.
