(Alexis Davis, GENERAL HOSPITAL)

2000 Outstanding Supporting Actress

Sounds Of Joy: "Receiving an award for your efforts is nice, but the best thing is to stand in front of millions and shout how much you love your family. Because my family loves me so much, I know it's joyful for everybody. The idea that my daughter will be able to see the tape and hear how much I love her when she is older is truly a joyful thought."

Live In The Moment: "When I won, all I wanted to do was remain calm and enjoy the moment. If I got excited, I wouldn't remember what happened, which defeats the purpose. When I won an Emmy 10 years ago, I remember the feeling, but I was so overwhelmed that I don't remember the details."

Shaken, Not Stirred: "Everyone knows that a single working mother is the busiest person on earth. So to have a night out at the Soap Opera Digest Awards is more appreciated now than ever before. Just to be able to get dressed up and have a martini makes it special. Then to win an award-it was a perfect evening!"

Skirting The Issue: "I'm not one for a slinky gown, but I saw a long, really cool black skirt in Duchess silk that I liked by a new designer, Byron Williams. It was classic and simple-dragging on the floor in the back but hanging beautifully in the front. He did my hair, too. He just whipped it back into a very simple, classic look that went perfectly with the skirt. "

Daddy's Girl: "My sister and my Mom came with me to the Awards, but my Dad wasn't feeling well, so he couldn't make the trip from Chicago. Because we do so many things as a family, I called him on the cell phone right after I walked off the stage so he could share the moment with me."
