These pages provide an wealth of information related to actors Nancy Lee Grahn and Maurice Benard, including articles from various publications that have been reprinted in their entirety. According to Canadian copyright law, "any fair dealing with any work for the purposes of private study or research" does not infringe on copyright. This is the Canadian equivalent of the "fair use" provision in American copyright law. We believe this web site meets both definitions since the information in these pages:

- was researched at our own expense for our own personal edification so that we could trace the evolution of Sonny and Alexis' relationship, their own histories, and those of their portrayers, Maurice Benard and Nancy Lee Grahn, respectively. The fact that we have placed this information on a computer to which you are allowed access does not detract from the fact we did this for my own private study and research.
- is provided with no commercial design or intent. We have not nor will we receive any financial remuneration for developing these pages. These pages have been created and are maintained entirely at our own personal expense, or through private donations made by visitors to the site.

Most of this information is not readily available from other sources, as some of the publishers are no longer in business and/or back issues of some of these publications are not accessible. Many of the older interviews can be found only by purchasing used magazines (in which case the publisher doesn't receive anything anyway). By providing this information and the contact names of rightful copyright holders, we actually hope to do the copyright holders a favour by increasing people's interest in purchasing their own copies of articles and photos published in magazines, books, etc.

Despite all these very valid arguments for making all this information available on the web, we are still concerned about my personal liability with respect to copyright law, particularly with more recent information. We do not believe that we am infringing on copyright here anymore than we would be by retyping interviews into my word processor and then inviting people off the street into my house to read what is on the computer monitor free of charge.
